Fine at Rio for walk to stn but rain started at 730 and got heavier. Changed trains at La Spezzia ( doesn't look too inspiring) and got regional train to Pisa for 7.20€ 1.5 hrs. New train- pretty nice. Rain getting heavier and low cloud. Left bag at station 4€ for couple hrs (!) at Pisa and walked into town- about 1km along cobbled lane ways. Went up to Sarzana this morning....it was their big clothes market...all the streets were filled with booths selling new, not bad clothes and thousands of people were there to buy them.
