Our engine upfront is a proper diesel train, like the ones in Russia, and like the one in that film unstoppable, the sort we don't use in England - maybe that's why rail travel is so expensive, although now I think perhaps it's to pay all those handsomely paid train drivers who earn an absolute mint! ...

SO! After lots and lots of sunbathing, diving, drinking monkey juice, washing of pots, dancing like a mad thing at Black Tip Bar, loss of dignity and loss of rugby matches (Oh Scotland!!!!) the time finally came to get off of that island.

... This was actually a blessing in disguise as Penang was a great little town and said to have some of the best food in Malaysia. We spent two days eating our way around Little India and China Town in Penang, form Roti Cani (like a small fried naan bread) with curry sauce and huge plates of chicken tandoori and curry to small pork buns soaked in gravy (a personal favorite of Tom's) and their famous crispy pork/duck on rice!

After Penang we got back on track ...
