26.10.14 Left Schwangau today and drove through Austria with snow all around us and to the Waldheim Hotel in the Valle Di Casies in the heart of the Dolomites. There is snow all around us but the roads are clear. It is a really picturesque area, not much to do except admire the scenery. We checked into the Hotel and went for a long walk, the Hotel has a restaurant so we will have dinner there. Stayed in our room and played scrabble ...
... our very good friends, Ingrid and Frank Kunstel, was especially amazing. We've known each other for over 40 years, so we know each other well. We have a nice rhythm of traveling and being together. Seeing all this with them, experiencing it together, enhanced every minute.

Today we went up to San Martino in the morning to Nonna Mela's house for a visit, and to take her out for lunch. We were met by a very nice young man, Werner at the reception when we checked in. He spent a lot of time with us sharing his historical knowledge of the region which we greatly appreciated.
