      ... the way we talked about both our families, where they are from and what we know. Like in many communities in Poland this town had been 90% Jewish. You would not know it, only 70 years later!!! We found a map of the city once we entered and on there were 2 Jewish stars, one which indicated where the synagogue was and one where the cemetery was. Now to try and find them.
      Well we did and we believe the pictures below identified the areas we found.

      ... which the church was built. It wasn't a pine, it was deciduous tree. Back at the church we could the beautiful colour of wood in the interior. Outside we a nice ice cream. We took another nature walk to a dam nearly. The village had no electricity so contrived their own hydroelectric scheme. Andrzej went to great lengths to show us an old jewish cemetery.       ... up and we heard a trumpet playing from the tower. He played to 3 sides of the tower. The one he didn't play to was in the direction of Krakow. There had been some rivalry in the past. Zamosc had been a kingdom of its own. We went to the synagogue that was housing an art exhibition, but it was not worth the 7pln to get in.       ... that afterwards we go to the open air museum, followed by some other sites. Arriving at Majdanek it was a sunny morning, the spring grass was green and the scene almost too pleasant for a concentration camp. Some of the barracks had exhibitions.
