... headed into a rice paddy. Again we crossed some interesting characters that worked on the fields. The journey through the paddy showed beautiful views and before long we were heading across a tiny bamboo bridge back into the village.

After the incredible hike we were pilling in the car for a 5-hour drive up to Mt Bromo. After the drive a cold beer and noodle dinner was much needed especial because we had to be awake for another hike but this time at ...

... wait to be back in dry clothes. There's always the debrief though and we weren't finished until 6.30, as we also read up on our Deep Dive, Wreck Dive and Enriched air Dive for the next day...three dives in one day! Argh. Day 2, dive (for me) 10 - Deep Dive; I had the biggest smile on my face, and spring in my step...we were going down to 30 metres!! Kit assembled, pre dive safety checks complete, wetsuits and socks for me on (we were getting good at this) , as the fins ...

... The temple itself is made up of giant bell shaped structures carved out of stone set in a huge circle. There were also statues of monks looking out towards the hills. We managed to get there in time for sun rise (5am start!) to make the most of the views. We had been looking around the temple for around 1 hour when the security guards approached us and told us we had to leave because the prime minister of Java was coming to visit the temple! This cut our ...
