... grounds is prohibited, but the East gardens of the Imperial complex is open to the public, so we made the most of this. The gardens are picturesque in all the ways you`d expect of a Japanese garden: calm, with a small waterfall flowing into a pool of brightly coloured carp. All this with Tokyo`s impressive urban centre towering in the background, you get a real sense of Japan present and past wandering in the gardens.

The weather is just not cooperating with us! It has been raining on and off since we arrived in Japan. Usually you could see Mount Fuji from my sister's house but it has been too cloudy.

Today we went to Lake Tanuki to do family pictures. It didn't rain but it was still very cloudy so we did not get Fuji San in the background :(

In the 30 minutes I had taken to rest against the station, the wind had gotten stronger. I went around the station to continue up the path and I was almost sliding back from the wind.
