    ... side of the peninsula, the walk was not quite as impressive as it seems, flat and not that hot today. Usual Italian beach except did have more public, vs rented, space than many.     It was originally built by a German Baroness and then was left to its own devices for many years until Claudia and Jim saw it and restored it to its former glory in 1999. They had to get everything around to the villa by boat. All the builders had a winch everything to get all the building materials up to the decaying villa.     If you thought the Great Ocean Road is windy then it has nothing on the roads we have just taken. poor Mandy who was sitting on the passenger side , which is closest to the sheer cliff face to the ocean was constantly pushing on the imaginary brakes that she has. Hilarious.

    ... amp; C's beautiful home , 17th century house, in Steeple Aston. You kept looking around to see if Inspector Barnaby or Lewis were lurking in the hedgerows. Absolutely beautiful countryside. We managed to stay awake all day and then had a fabulous supper accompanied by some good reds, of course.     After the gym went in the indoor heated salt water pool and did laps with two Japanese men who studied and badly copied Jolene’s breast stroke. Spent the afternoon exploring the boat that will be our home for the next three weeks. Heaps of Euros and only 200 Aussies on whole boat.
