Day 3 of relaxing on the shores of the Med on the island of Elba, and....damn it's been tough....!
We have had to walk the 500m to the local village and buy some groceries, and have had a swim every 30 mins, ..and surprising how much colder the water is than yesterday, for no apparent reason....it was a warm night, yet today the water must be 2or 3 deg ...

It's part of Europe's largest marine national park and also has vineyards so I have no idea why Napoleon was desperate to leave! Walked across to ...

... Italian man came to assist. Well............I leaned to the left and lost my footing, and in so doing , did my best Ethel Merman impression as I dove off to the left into the murky waters of the marina. Fully clothed!!!!
I managed to miss the rocks and end up between the next boat and the jetty. Very lucky indeedy.
Not my most glamorous of looks but as the lovely Italian men came to /my rescue they tried to haul me out on to the jetty but I feared that I ...

    They're back...........
lo and behold we could not escape them. They are back & ensconced in the villa. They turned up in their little yellow & red car yesterday. They found a toad on the way (see picture attached) & decided that they would stay for the duration.

It has been lovely enjoying the pool & going into the piazza for a coffee after getting a mountain load of salad veggies for J ...
