... on the beach, more swimmers came and went, I tried the toe test! It feels far too cold for swimming, just a paddle was enough! The beach cafes are open and the one closest to us has a group of Brits enjoying the sun and coffee. Eventually a few clouds bubbled up and we took our chairs iver to Dream Catcher and had lunch, , after we drove to the port at Souda to buy our ferry tickets. The 'Old Druid' had told us about the British war graves at Souda, we went to ...

The gates were open but there wasn't anyone there, however the water was on and the chemical toilet waste was accessible, so we used their facilities (thank you) and then left and parked at the end of the road for the night outside a closed taverna. At one of our photo stops we met a couple from Argentina, they had left their camper on the main land and had hired a car to tour Crete. They took some photos of Dream Catcher and said they really liked it.
We dropped down to Sougia an undeveloped resort with a waterfront promenade lined with many tavernas. It is of ...

... full, and full of red coloured mud. The old town is closest, as we strolled up the Main Street all that was needed was some tumble weed blowing down it to complete the scene from a deserted cowboy film set, the shutters were all closed, shop and bar signs were squeaking as they swung on the wind and no one was about, except an odd taverna had a light on. If we had gone in would the drinks have been pushed down the bar to us?
At the top of the street there was ...
