    Another Stopover

It seems that today we made too little progress. The biggest problem here is that the bus system and ferry system do not communicate with each other. As a result, you get to a town where you want to catch the ferry, it is still reasonable early, but the last ferry is gone. It is a bit frustrating but we will have to spend the night here and wait for the ferry in the morning.

Again, San Carlos is not really a destination although it is nicer than Iloilo. The ...

... middle). We have seen comfortable buses with only 3 seats, in thailand, the occasional bus with 5 (squeeze!). In the philippines, they are all 6 seat-rows. What a sweet evening, that left my heart just a little broken. ...

... body and I longed for relief. Anthony, our group leader told us all about ICM, their Transform program and all the things ICM does. They not only feed malnourished children, but teach the families how to grow vegetables in hanging gardens, teach them how to make a "tippy tap" to wash their hands and teach them about hygiene, and then teach them about Christ. We would be building a "CR", or a "Comfort Room"... Otherwise know as bathroom, for a community. ...

We flew from Manila to a town called Bacolod on the Island of Negros. The flight was only 55 minutes long, but in that time the crew managed to feed and water us! (Air Canada, take note).

We arrived at our hotel mid-day, dumped our baggage in our room and headed out in search of some lunch. Wandering down the Main Street we spied a litle cafe that was full of Philippino people (always a good sign). In we ...
