... tea and fried bananas at a venue where a wedding was just about to take place. They sat us at the wedding tables and the bride and groom were standing there waiting for us to leave so the wedding could go ahead!

Louise as a woman, walking in invites such strong prolonged stares and creates such an uncomfortable atmosphere that turning around and walking straight back out again is the only option (this hasn't been the case in other workers cafes in Kerala, but tourists and women appear to be rare in this town).
