... barge where we had to wave to nearly every local we passed - felt a bit like a tropical, less royal version of the Queen and Philip on the Jubilee barge! In the evening we moored up at a really peaceful spot and had a great dinner, but given guest houses seem to rarely have a constant supply of electricity here, houseboats certainly don't, so no air-con, and teeth brushing by (head) torchlight!


Getting there is the real adventure!

... normal, and suggested he just follow one of them at a reasonable distance? He kept jerking the car through 2nd and 3rd gear and breaking every-time there was an oncoming car. Again I tried to prod him to just follow another car at a reasonable distance and at least drive like the others, but he didn't seem to understand my English, or something as this lead to some crazy driving which scared me even more - with the constant changes in speed, speeding up ...

... The make-up was done by the individual and very detailed and the costumes had many many pieces to it with sometimes three men to help put on a costume. We didn’t see the whole costume prior to the show so there was still an element of surprise when the character was introduced.
