... visiting. It's great to see an old friend with a great family, but it also makes you reflect. It was the first time I really got to play with and study a two year old. And now I know why they say an angel watches over all small children.
Erin and I have decided to make our visits more frequent in the future.
Phoenix, Arizona, United States brandonibologna... water from the toilet, washing machine, dishwasher and tub using gravity, filters, microorganisms, chemicals and ultraviolet light--well, you wouldn't want to drink it, but it's okay now.
They also cool industrial plants with it, water highway medians & community common areas, and probably most importantly--return large portions of it to the aquifer.
OK, it's still kinda yucky, but it's the savior of the desert, so I'll get over it.

Mesa, Arizona, United States thesairsHiking in Phoenix twists your mind. Because you actually hike IN the city. But not in the city like down city streets--you're in nature preserves that wrap you in solitude, surround you with desolation, and thrill you with singular beauty. All this while being actually very close to the congestion and stress of the city you're escaping.

We hiked up Lost Dog Wash Trail in the McDowell-Sonoran Preserve ...
Scottsdale, Arizona, United States bobnkaren... Ouzo out, before we headed to possibly my favorite bar/club since Ive been away. It was called Dos Gringos and was an open air bar with loads of lights and things hanging, a massive Jenga, other bar type games, dance floor, just a good time place, oh and it was 10 drinks for 10 bucks, ouch!!! Needless to say we were there till close before finding our way home. Although a brief stop it was lots of fun.

Tempe, Arizona, United States reena.ram.king... lots of vehicles out here, but the roads we were on we only saw 2 jeeps and a group of 5 ATVers on the more traveled road. A bit windy off and on all day, but as we got to tire air up place it was blowing hard and much dust in the air-visibility was limited. Tomorrow to have even more wind, gusts to 45. We are both tired and after a bit of a nap had a second wind, but winding down again-so off to bed. March 23, And a good long nights sleep that we both needed ...
Apache Junction, Arizona, United States teamcc... Creek to Matt at Rock Solid Fabricators. I was following, in the dark and when Charlie got off the 202 I didn't see him- he phoned and I finally found a freeway exit/turnaround and back to find him-He gave me the Nuvi and he followed me the rest of the way. Gave Matt our 'to do' list and headed back toward home via the TanSanFlat cowboy eatin' place. A 30 minute wait- the place was packed-and it is so far out into the desert that it is hard to believe that many ...
Apache Junction, Arizona, United States teamcc... an extended conversation, more coffee and even an invite round to their house for a party that evening! However, we had made plans to go for a meal at a posh restaurant that night. They were great company though. We then found a bar called the "Rusty Spur Saloon"! Honestly. We just had to nip in for a cold one. As soon as the bar staff found out we were English, one drink became two, then three, then the counting ...
