Restaurants and Gordon Bleu
Today we wrapped up our final build day. One group from our team worked on the finishing the dry-wall in one house. Another team finished laying the concrete for a sidewalk at a second house. The third team worked on dry-wall from the group home.
We stopped working at lunch today in order to allow the Romanian Habitat team a half-free day since it's Saturday. This extra time allowed a few of us to head into Oradea to do some touristy activities.

I have to admit to just getting lucky. Tomorrow is our final work day and we'll take a half day to give our counterparts some break time before the next team arrives on Sunday.

Tiling Gets Hot

In the morning, I worked closely with one of the staff from Caminul Felix and I was delighted that every time we accomplished some task, he exclaimed "hallelujah!" I enjoyed the practice of celebrating and taking joy in even the little things.
The work was hard and it was really hot out, but everyone was really satisfied with all that was accomplished. Below are pictures from day one.

After checking out the warm, home-like accommodations at Caminul Felix, we headed out to dinner at a beautiful lake location with a restaurant called Hanul Pescarilor. Over dinner, a few of us talked about community and the connections that do or don't drive communities to care for one another. I remembered and spoke about the African word "Ubuntu" meaning, I am because you are.
