We left the riverboat docked at Basel and took an hour ride to Lucerne. This is such a charming compact city. We went to see the Lion Monument and the Glacier Garden, then walked down to the Schwanan Plaza. There you see to the left the Cathedral of St.Leodegar, which is sits in a small hill above the lakefront. This was originally built in 735 but a fire nearly destroyed it, and a new structure was erected in 1633. To the right you see the Chapel ...
... had passed a big club group of cyclists all in the same kit. After we went through a beautiful little town with a cobbled thoroughfare (riding in the center water channel is easier if no one is coming the other way) we stopped for a few moments to check our directions. Full and happy, we went back to the room and slept like ...
... to Grindelwald in the mountains. You can and hop off the train and look around at various little towns, maybe do a quick walk or gondola ride, and then go to the next little mountain town, get off and look around and keep going untill you get to the little town which is the last town before taking the Cable Car up/through the mountain to Jungrau. We stopped at Grindelwald and walked around slowly taking in the breathaking views and cute little village atmospheres. The next stop ...
