... short, the damn route got us lost and we ended up doing another massive detour. At rixheim, we eventually turned around to try to find any kind of river to camp on. Rivers are nice. We didnt find the rhine, but ended up staying on the banks of a kittle canal which was super pretty and a fair distance from any dodgy dog walkers!
dinner, consisting of more garlic tha pasta, followed by wine and bed was pretty much exactly what the doctor ...
So after planning to get an early start... which again only happened shortly before 10, because actual beds are just so dam comfy, we were on our way direction basel. The original plan was to stay at Annignas place, but seeing she is on holiday, and that basel is acually 90km away, we decided to take it easy. Good thing too, about 2hours into the ride, I start feeling something not right at the back of my foot/calf. ...
... but not much more. A fine place to lay your
head for the night. The concierge suggested a restaurant, called Cafe
Gugel. I tried to look it up before we went, and saw it had 2/2 decent
reviews. It was only a short walk from the hotel, and we got there and
it seemed closed. There was scaffolding and such outside and it looked
closed. We went inside anyway, climbed some stairs, and sure enough it

NOTHING is open! The only reason we put Mulhouse on our itinerary was the car museum. It was Andrew and Alain's dream to visit this museum, one of the largest car collections in the world. YAWN! So Andrew and Alain headed off this morning to live out their fantasies and the rest of us walked into town to find some breakfast. We ended up at the railway station where we had petit dejeuner.....breakfast. Nothing else was open. Certainly no Sunday morning cafe culture ...

After her mother's death, she returned to manage the inn that has been in her family for five generations...since 1847. She hopes her 14-year-old daughter will make it six generations.
