... a ravioli stuffed with cheese and autumn mushrooms. They then brought a trolley of about 20 different cheeses, which we both love!!! I selected three different, and Eldon selected three different than I chose. They served the cheese with either nut bread or fruit bread. They then brought us each 6 different tastes of fun little one bit desserts. We then had an ice cream beer served on, what I thought was jello, but jello like I've never had it ...

Descending from the mountain pass, I noticed a brownish substance on the bitumen becoming more dense the further I went. I got my answer a few km later when I caught up with hundreds of cows returning down the valley from the Alps for the winter months. It was quite colourful with the cows decorated with ...

We once again took the regional train and headed for Freiburg. It was a very nice ride and we were able to see many towns and farms as we headed deeper into the Black Forest. We went straight to the open air market which they have everyday except Sunday. They had great local produce and some interesting crafts for sale. We toured the cathedral next, which was very impressive. ...

... for dinner - very nice too!! After dinner another little stroll then back
on the “jar of jam” and home for a good night’s rest before setting off to
    Luxembourg.

It is quite remarkable that Basel
has three main train stations, the Swiss and the French at the same location
and a German one a few hundred meters away.
Needless to say tomorrow we depart from the French one.
