... Austria. Innsbruck is like a medieval town just plonked in the middle of Europe! We had three hours to explore the town and it was quite interesting. We went to the golden roof which was a building built by emperor Maximilian in the 1500's for him and his two wives after their wedding. The balcony was where they watched festivals, fights and the everyday life of the towns people. It was quite an amazing and obscure building. We then made our way ...

... rail up to the mountains, all open according to the web this morning. Well it's a grey old Munich morning right now, clear though. Yesterday we took the subway out to the BMW museum, which was set up in two parts, the modern show area and a museum for older BMW interest such as early war engines etc. Suffice to say I was allowed one but not 2, so the new area it was. ... fee is €9.50, so I would recommend that you go up there on an evening and view it and save yourself the quite hefty entry fee! Innsbruck Tourist Information offer the Innsbruck Card which offers you entry into all of the city's attractions at €33 for 24 hours, €41 for 48 hours and €47 for 72 hours. I personally didn't buy the card as there are many free places that you can visit such as the Cathedral St. James which has some incredible, ...

... on a German only tour, skipping off the back of that we did manage to get on one with an English head pieces and finally made our way around. Overall impression was that the outside is a lot better than the inside and unless you love history don’t waste the €14 for the privilege.

Leaving the castle we jumped in a horse carriage and made our way back down the mountain, into the car as time was getting on and we started the journey home, but for a small detour on ...
