The German train system is on strike until Monday. That is all BUT the ICE (intercity express) trains. So we did catch our 6:45 AM train from Brussels to Frankfurt. It was a little eerie to see all the trains parked. There were a few running but in most of the stations, like Koln and Bonn, we were the only train.

On the way to pick up the rental car we had this great Iranian cab ...

... service I think I received from the lovely Lufthansa flight attendant that checked me in and you get my current mood. She mentions that she very kindly put me in an exit row seat for my first flight because I'm tall. Nawwww. Unfortunately, it appears she cannot count as I was in the row BEHIND the exit seat row...not only did I not get all that leg room, I had to watch the other giants lounging in the luxurious space! Oh well...it was only 1.5 hours. At least the same ...

We were driving on the autobahn which meant we could drive as fast as we wanted. The boys were quite keen to test it out! Eli managed to get to 240km/h and Mike 210km/h - crazy! In the Audi it didn't even feel like you were going that fast! They weren't able to hold that speed for long ...

... from parsley to cilantro to other herbs that not even the Germans know what they are, and they are ground into a paste with a liquid base to create a vibrate addition to a good schnitzel. From dinner we drove back to Offenbach (the home of Andreas and Biergoet, about 20 minutes outside of downtown Frankfurt) via the Autobahn, only hit about 220km/h (~170mph), love this German driving. Had a lovely sleep in a real bed and woke up to a hefty German breakfast of brotchen and more ...
