... not adhering to the reboarding times, we commenced our 2 hour drive back to Zurich along Lake Walen, at the foot of the Churfirsten mountain range. Although late, Marcello requested the driver to make an unplanned 5 minute stop so we could see and photograph Lake Walen's beautiful scenery. Yet again, the same people were late reboarding the bus. As we pulled in to Zurich city, Marcello gave us his parting joke, well actually more like imparting his wisdom and bid us ...

We got up early this morning. Yesterday we purchased tickets to take the Bernina Express and had to be at the train station at 9:00, packed up and ready to leave when our train returned.

The hotel served a beautiful breakfast this morning. They even had a menu of breakfast choices: eggs, omelets and pancakes along with all the other buffet items.

    We had ...

Today we awoke to very promising weather, although it is very changeable and hard to predict. So grabbing the opportunity we boarded the Bernina Express and headed to St Moritz for the day. This scenery caper is now just getting ridiculous! What we saw was breathtaking, awesome and any other adjective your thesaurus can give you.
We started out in Val Poschiavo (the valley) which is almost 1000 metres above sea ...

... first mile was uphill all the way and we finally got to a saddle between two mountains, which is essentially a meadow. We looked for deer or Ibex but didn't see any. We saw a lot of scat so we knew they were around but didn't see any. We took a wrong turn and finally asked some people hiking if we were on our way to Parking lot 1. They said no, it was back the other way. So we sat at a sweet little bridge over ...
