We visited the "man" and "women" island. Before we entered the palace with the timed guided tour, we visited Konig Ludwig II Museum. Believe me it was just like in amazing race, as we made the 100 yard dash, at a sprinters pace to make the connection. Marilyn was about 30 yards behind as I got to the train. We disembarked and then got on the Langwiedbahn which was a more traditional open ski lift with an optional cover which we left open. This leg took us over very rocky terrain and past a small lake. We disembarked at the Alpincenter and walked over to get on the Gipfelbahn which was enclosed ...

... from the mountain meadows to the lower pastures and we happened to hit one of the days. The farmers (spouses, kids, etc.) were all decked out in their tyrolian best, with drums sounding, bells ringing and cows …. well cows being cows parading through the streets to the pastures. The farmers did their best to move the cows along, but their was a lot of dilly dallying and various side activities (if you know what I mean). All in all pretty cool to see.
