Our next visit was to a lovely village by the name of Old Aalden which we wandered around for a few hours checking out all the houses with thatch roofs (a very costly product in today's day and age) some farm animals and even a stalks nest although there were no stalks to be seen. We finished our nice country foray with a stop at a ...

You'll gather we are now in Germany but before I bring you up to date with our exploits I need to answer a few questions that I can recall from the comments which have poured in.For Chris and Elaine, this section of the journey is scheduled to end this weekend when Alison and I return to UK. The main objective was to get Stanley across the Arctic Circle and was the first (and maybe the last) stage in driving from the North Cape to one of ...

We went to church at the Old Evangelical Reformed Church in. Uelsen today with the De Vries (Masselink) family and the Kronemeyer family. The pastor delivered the sermon in German, then welcomed the Masselinks from the USA and summarized the sermon for us in English. So cool! It was good to see the Germans avoid the first five rows of the church just like the Americans, the latecomers have to sit up in front. Trying to sing ...
