... a large park called Hirschgarten. We need a park like this back home! There were a dozen basketball rings scattered through this park, as well as a few shuffle boards and other various outdoor activities. The playgrounds were actual playgrounds and there was even a large pen holding a couple of dozen reindeer. What made this park awesome however was the beer garden. We took the the train from Vienna to Munich with the six Irish guys and gals that we had spent the final leg of Austria with. When we arrived into Munich, they made their way toward their hostel and we made our way toward ours. Our hostel was a little bit outside of the city so we took a cab to get there. ... that’s where you go to drink beer and socialize. Even young people seemed to be heavy smokers, and the older folks puffed away regularly, too. And for some reason it seemed OK to drop cigarette butts everywhere. ... solar panels so the definitely seem to be more green than what I am used to.  There was a little festival going on when we arrived in rothenburg, "rothenburger volkfest.". Our tour guide whisked us quickly through the crowds at the festival, which looked and smelled similar to festivals back in the US, into the historic center of this adorable little town.  Rothenburg dates back to 1100 AD, and is a destination for locals as well as tourists.  It was soooo cool!   And ...
