... of Leopoldskroner. The "konzert" took place high above that however. After dinner, and climbing an indeterminable number of stairs to the top of the fortress we were treated to a gorgeous setting for the most incredible chamber music and sunset over Salzburg. What a night. Note regarding GPS and Wifi: In June, our district gave us an info sheet via email about using Airplane mode and Wifi when travelling to avoid hidden charges. It has worked like a charm. I discovered ...

... the end of that boat ride. It was so. And it was lovely. Reminded me of when I was in Bangkok a number of years ago, and was also staying at a much more lowly hotel accommodation, and found it a must to eat at the Oriental Hotel now and then! ... We rode in a taxi back to our hotel....2 1/2 hours later!
I know that we have not given Salzburg a fair test, but the weather was beyond our control. I love our hotel and our meal at St. Peter's Stiftskeller, I loved seeing Nonnberg Convent, I really did think the castle was pretty cool....as for the rest of Salzburg, maybe I'll be back someday to give it another chance to wow me in a way it didn't quite manage to do this time around.
I'm looking forward to the 7 ...

Day 35, Topdeck day 4, Vienna (Salzburg)

A travel blog entry by lisanovotny on Sep 14, 2013

... Thankfully the train was quite cushy and spacious as we had a 2.5 hour ride ahead of us. Sarah and Lisa didn't take long before falling asleep, but I was wide awake with excitement so just chilled on wifi for the ride. We arrived in Salzburg just before 10:00. We had about a 10min walk to get to our tour meeting point, but didn't need to be there till 11:30 so we walked around into town to find a Thomas Sabo shop. We found it in the main ...
