    Our vacation starts

... ever before, our luggage was also there so we headed off to pick up our Alamo rental car. Even that was a cinch. Not even 15 minutes and we had our jeep loaded and headed off to Cape Coral. But alas not everything was easy. We needed over an hour to reach Alligator Alley. The I-75 North was one huge traffic jam which caused us to travel an extra hour. We finally arrived in Cape Coral at 7:30 pm local time. We were so exhausted we headed straight for our beds. No travel pics ...

I bought porridge and honey yesterday. I thought of it before but I'd only seen the pre portioned expensive porridge which I won't buy. I found normal, cheap porridge oats for only €0,39. That's seven or eight portions working out to about six cent per portion. Add some honey and gas and it'll probably come to about €0.25 a portion. Well enough about cheap breakfast. I have to tell you about my mattress, how it's perfect ...

... I won't throw away my old one until I'm sure this one is good. I head north, direction Lauenburg. As I leave the city, I feel there isn't much energy left for a long hike. When I see a patch of unmaintained grass close to a construction site, I put up my tent just so it's very hard to see from the road. Tonight I'll be testing my new mattress. It's not long before my tent is covered with red ants. Bummer, I cook very fast close the tent and hope for the ...

I wake up early with a mission. I want to get as close to Lüneburg as possible. I have breakfast, break up camp and start hitting the road. This is the route I'm taking: Jesteburg, Hanstedt, Garlstorf, Salzhausen, Westergellersen. It's beautiful walk. I take regular stops and even have a proper siesta. When I put up camp between Westergellersen and Kirchgellersen, there's only 14 kilometre left to Lüneburg. I can do that ...

    Pushing it

... lady asks me if I'm going to Buchholz. Yes I am! She gives me a lift to the swimming pool because I'm in a desperate need of a shower. After the shower, I go into the centre of Buchholz. I buy some things and then continue towards Jesteburg. It's time to find a place to put up camp and finish the day. Just before Jesteburg, there's a nice forest where I put up my tent. I've picked up some fresh tomatos, onions and garlic today so I can make a proper gravy for my pasta. I love my ...
