    ... Total comes as 22 Euros for a return trip.

    The Train is in every one hour and buses in 20 minutes. Keep a check on the last bus from Sirmione when you head back.

  • One can also take Trenitalia to Desenzano and then take a bus to Verona and alight ...

    ... to put her feet up. A visit to the museum was on the afternoon agenda which is housed in the castle it was interesting how many paintings of Madonna & Child can be housed in one place. The most impressive parts were the original wall decorations and the walk around part of the castle walls with great views
    of the town in the evening light. She was pleased to be back to check on the patient once more and put her feet up after so many stairs.

    ... internal debate, I decided to take a train. My logic was that I would arrive there sooner and get to see the town more, and also not hurt myself but pushing too hard. Between not having done a ton of riding the last couple months and all the additional weight on my bike, I knew I wasn't going to be able to get through another 120km day.
    The train took longer then I expected because I had to transfer at Verona Porta Nuova and wait ...

    ... to the Monument cemetery. A truly different kind of cemetery from those in the states. A very large area with big headstones, mausoleums, monuments and photos of the dead. The Italians take funerals and remembering the deceased very seriously. Our last stop was at the kitschy Balcony of Juliette. Although a fictional character of Shakespeare, this is a popular stop with a balcony for the tourists.

    ... frustrated with all the sitting in enclosed spaces. A bigger thankyou for the patience when I did lose the plot or was 'set in my ways' about what I would and wouldn't do ...and for rebelling with me on the few times we did 'leave the group' (next time we will be more brave)
