      ... hairpin bends the road hugs the edge of a massive cliff. Much of the road is now under massive concrete covers and protected from falling rocks and snow but looking at the construction of the original road here is just a miracle to say the least.

      Today much of the road is held up by concrete pillars but on close inspection one can see all the old packed shaped rocks built up and carefully fitted under the road. What a job that must have been to build all this ...

      ... IPad and I was well beaten by Jenny as is mostly the case. No Wifi in the room but it is advertised so will ask about it. Was not too interested in the TV show which had naked men and women dancing with a block of concrete.       ... remain in our hearts as our favorite European city. We were awed by the northern city of Bolzano and so thankful we got to experience the Dolomites. We were enchanted by the magic of the lakes, especially Lake Como, with low-lying clouds, misty mornings, twinkling evening lights.       ... We got a quick tour to see where he stays and to see some of the classrooms. The boys were very interested in seeing the yr 1 and yr 3 rooms.       ... kids ran around in the playground. The playground had 13 swings in it (why I don't know) and last time we were here and Nicolas was 2, he was obsessed with swings so I nearly fainted when I saw this playground and was imagining how to ever make him leave!
