Alpenstrasse 2 Interlaken, Bernese Oberland, Swiss Alps, Switzerland, 3800, 33-828-1670
After getting up early this morning, due in part to the neighbors making noise (see what good carpeting can do), I headed out to the Zurich University's Botanical Garden. Most people don't know this, but giving me a camera in a garden can be a bad thing....I tend to take way too many pictures of, well, botanical stuff. When I was in Fort Worth last year, I probably took 300 pictures. Today I limited myself to only 125, but given the time of year, its the best that can be expected. According t...
Zurich, Switzerland manofmayo
Ausserbinn, Switzerland lesterenanne... adventure office in my hostel and decided to go canyoning...WOW is all i can say. For 5 hours we rappelled, slide, and jumped down rocks and waterfalls into the white water that fills the canyons at grindelwald. Im already feeling the bumps and seeing the bruises surfacing but it was SOOOO worth it. that was seriously one of the amazing things ive done this trip. I also went with a really small group so we helped eachother the whole way and had a ...
Interlaken, Swiss Alps, Switzerland rampantredhead... caught a birdseye view of the entire city and the two lakes that surround Interlaken. Stephanie, Heri, Chantelle and Roman have been very hospitable to us and have made us some amazing food. I feel any weight I had lost along the way so far is now firmly back around my waist... but i do not care. Its been bloody delicious.

I must run. I have been on the net for a long time now and everyone is outside drinking. I must join. Tommorow we are off to Bruge.

Until then amigos..
Interlaken, Swiss Alps, Switzerland liam_courtney_... This became about 2 hours walking with our massive backpacks on, as we'd checked out of accommodation, so we think we did pretty well. The walk was packed with more great eye candy though, including a stop at Trummelbach Falls. A series of waterfalls actually inside a mountain with spots to get right up close and showered with spray from glacier water hurtling down at ridiculous speeds. More natural Swiss beauty. Spent the night in Interlaken with some ...
Interlaken, Swiss Alps, Switzerland promking22... and an AMAZING dessert. The presentation of everything, especially the dessert which was lemon mousse with blackberry sorbet, showed the extreme attention to detail that is taken with meals here in Europe. There was also espresso served. Overall, the whole meal experience was wonderful. What better way to continue my day in Switzerland than to go hang glding over the lakes and Alps surrounding Interlaken? The answer is there is no better way. Five of us in our group ...
Interlaken, Swiss Alps, Switzerland sheayoung... of costs: Single hotel room in the party area (very loud, 24 hours), no breakfast, shared bathroom facilities is 90 dollars. Big Mac menu deal 13 dollars. Single train trip at night 7 dollars. Strawberry Sundae 5 dollars. Internet 13 dollars an hour. I've done very little and blown the budget at 150 dollars a day. Switzerland is definitely out of the realms of budget backpackers. If only I knew this beforehand... I would of skipped it and spent the extra ...
Zurich, Switzerland shanewilson... Swiss. So we walked, and walked, desperately seeking a place that was still serving food as it neared 10:00. It turns out that the only place you can get food after 9:30, in all of Zurich, is McDonalds. Starving, but refusing to order any typical McDonalds we opted for the PitaMacs (a square pita with chicken and vegetables..yes, vegetables at McDonalds!)Actually, the pitamacs were pretty good, and it is a terribly fun word to say. Tuesday is Fair Day ...
Zurich, Switzerland choyt1427... up in a 2 star hotel in a resort called Zermatt as the staff accomodation was full. Calling it a hotel is probablz like calling the old italian lire, currency. my room was small, well when i say small what i really mean is that in order to close the door (which had not auto lock system on it) i had to breath in and lunge towards the bed. it did however have a small yet comfortable bed and a TV with cable which allowed me to see the repeat of ...
Zurich, Switzerland sheffster... with Del, Nick, & Matt, Canyoning tomorrow morning at 8:15 AM with Del, Nick, Matt, May, and Ty. Total cost: $US 330. I took a walk with May, who needed to locate and purchase a bathing suit and towel for her and Ty's 1:15 river rafting session. Speaking of Oz counterparts, May is a unique composite of Marianne McCarley and Cathryn Mazer, two dear New York friends with whom I click extraordinarily well. She's down to earth, comfortable to talk with, I feel like I've known her ...
