... we were soon approaching our destination but before we arrived we diverted to the local bird sanctuary and spent a pleasant hour as the sun was setting looking at all the birds and mammals. Half the group cycled (are they daft) and the other half took to rickshaws
letting our guides do some peddling !!!!

Colin (our doctor) even took to the wheel of the rickshaw I was in and peddled much to the horror of our guide who in Colins ...

... and we hit 17mph with an average despite the undulating terrain of 15mph in the last hour !

Two 70km days to go and the guides are reducing tomorrow's distance but increasing Saturday's.

Still no where near a computer so no pictures sorry but plenty to upload.

Sorry for the spelling and possible wrong words in this blog but predictive text and typing on an iPhone is not easy,

We met a young little girl at a shop that offered for her brother to get the beer for us for a small fee while we could rest under the fan for a couple of minutes. Her business talk was that if we will pick it up ourselves, we will have to walk and get tired plus pay ...

... get rid of a bacteria that had infected my belly. I was so hot, no AC in 100 degree weather, and so so weak to walk up three flights of stairs to the front desk. The knock at the door saved me. The owner of the guesthouse had not seen me all day. I opened the door hunched over. He immediately looked at me an insisted in taking me to the hospital. ... completely taken aback by what we saw. This was a very well maintained or renovated palace, brightly painted with decorative motifs on the walls. Inside were traditional pointed archways and photographs of the royalty at various functions over the last couple of hundred years up to independence I guess (as this was when the maharajas stopped receiving the privy purse and they all run out of money).
