I was sitting next to this little punky Indonesian guy who was quite funny. At first he sits down next to me and starts to talk to me in Indonesian, and when I tell him I don't understand, he's like "well then how do you talk to the local people? We don't all speak English". ... They didn't speak a word of English but we got by with hand gestures and smiles. They then dropped me off at my hotel in Bandung. I offered to give them some cash but they wouldn't take anything from me. It's really nice when you meet generous and genuine people in Asia, most of the time people befriend you to get something out of you. You have to be careful normally, but I knew from the start that these were decent people. A welcome change to the norm!

... about two hours away, and that turned out to be the best snorkkeling we did so far! About 15m off the coast the bottom dropped straight down for 25-30m and it created a real coral reef.
