Nice clean and relaxing

Stayed here for two nights during Thanksgiving week, which was busy for the hotel. The price was reasonable (cheaper but nice alternative to expensive bed and breakfasts). The room was clean and nicely decorated. The bathroom was a little small but the room was not. The hotel lobby was a great place to grab a drink and sit by the fireplace before heading out for a dinner near the plaza. The plaza is a good walk away but you can do it so long as the weather is decent. Overall, would stay here again.

I just returned from 3 nights at the Hotel Santa Fe. During this stay, I was in a Junior Suite with a balcony on the 3rd floor. My 1st stay was in March 2003 in a 1st floor room. I was very pleased with my 1st stay and decided to stay here again and I was just as pleased. The rooms are clean, spacious, have a microwave and minibar. In the Jr. Ste., there was a TV in the BR and in the living room. The staff has always been attentative and pleasant. There are no coffee pots in the rooms, but the hotel makes coffee & tea service available each morning until 10AM, at the elevator on each floor. Massages are conveniently available at the spa located in The Hacienda part of the hotel and I've been pleased with Santa Fe Massage each time I've made reservations. 2 blocks away is a Whole Foods Market which is convenient. I'll definitely stay here during future visits.

The Best Hotel in Santa Fe!!!

We visit Santa Fe often and this is the first time we stayed at Hotel Santa Fe. The service was great, the Hotel and grounds were beautiful and the staff was very friendly - needless to say, this is where we will stay on all future visits to this wonderful city.

Lovely Hotel

Stayed here for 2 nights, lovely clean room with beautiful furniture, very comfortable bed. Stay away from mini-bar as it was very expensive.

Ideally situated to walk to Plaza. Would stay again if in the area.

Not up to par

What a disappointment! Rooms are small. Hotel in general seems "tired looking" and could use a facelift. Balcony was miniscule with no view. Service was terrible. Most of the staff was not helpful or informed. In many cases, they gave us the wrong information. Booked through Orbitz and when checking in received less than warm treatment. Hotel is further from town than indicated and walk to town is not particularly attractive. Shuttle service, however, was excellent. Would not recommend.

Very disappointed.

Very disappointing! The room we booked was to have a fireplace and balcony. What we got was a tiny room, no fireplace, no balcony but a window overlooking the portico skylight. Very clean, but tiny, tiny, tiny and the staff not all that friendly nor accommodating. Value definitely did not equal price.

Poor service, not price

This hotel was a big disappointment, mostly due to service. The suite was small, but okay. The sink didn't drain. When we checked in, they didn't even offer to have someone help us with the bags and gave bad directions to the room. This is a high priced hotel and should offer service to go with the price.

Enjoyed the Santa Fe

My adult daughter and I stayed at the Hotel Santa Fe for three nights at the end of June. We did not stay in the "Hacienda" section mentioned in several other reviews. However, we found the hotel to be very nice. We stayed in a "mini-suite." The room was quite comfortable, tho not overly large, it had two distinct, but adjoining sections. It was nicely decorated and the bathroom was just fine. We had a small balcony overlooking the pool area. The pool, and hot tub are in a lovely outdoor garden, comfortable lounge chairs and shade. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. While the hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the Plaza the hotel offers a free shuttle to the center of town, it runs whenever you request it, just go to the front desk, say I want a ride, and voila, someone with a smile drives you to the Plaza. It was raining one of the nights and they also happily picked us up at the downtown restaurant (The Cayote Cafe) at 10pm. We enjoyed our stay and would definately stay there again.

If you come to Santa Fe - stay here

This is a very comfortable and peaceful hotel. The authentic decor really separate it out from your average chain hotel. Only 10 minutes walk from the main plaza. I stayed here with some friends and we all liked it.

All the charm of Santa Fe

I thought the Hotel Santa Fe was charming and warm. A wonderful cross between a quaint B&B and a big hotel. The room was very clean and quiet with a small balcony. We did not visit the restaurant and it was too chilly for the pool but they both looked lovely. I loved the delicious fresh compliementary coffe near the elevators in the morning (so you don't have to go all the way to the lobby just to get your morning fix). I plan on going back to Santa Fe this spring/summer and I will stay at the Hotel Santa Fe again.
