... suddenly we went into a tunnel and came out the other side in this huge gorge surrounded by craggy cliffs. This will be a fairly short entry since Peter and I cycled by ourselves today. Barry had proposed an alternate rout which was taken by Werner, Barry, Steve, Gilles, Don, Sue, Peter and I. Not sure where mark went although Peter and I did see him later. Tom, Linda, Dave, Michael, Wayne, Lori and Mesfin did the nominal. ... not bicycles can make it through when cars can't. It was only 4 km with 200 m of climbing to Port de Lers so we all went up. At the top, the road was barricaded to cars but we couldn't see the real issue. But we did see a few other cyclists go over the top and not come back, so by one's and two's we all did the same.
