... stayed about 30 minutes, and just went back to the apartment. Second to last night!! Noooooo! It all went too fast. Well yesterday I had forgotten it was graduation season here in Venice, when we checked into the apartment, we heard a bunch of college grad types outside the windows, singing and carrying on. The lady said when they graduate, they run around in the streets and sing this song that starts "dottore, dottore,.." And means like doctor, doctor (I guess when ...

... person walking it and everyone was driving by in their vehicles laughing and saying keep going! It was such a steep long trek a group of dogs came with us and led the way all the way up the mountain! ... in pairs) come along they had to quickly pack up and leave - obviously unlicensed. We also saw some army guys with tommy guns patrolling around.
We walked along the Grand Canal and then saw an MSC cruise ship coming through. It was huge - much bigger than ours - and I was glad we hadn't been on such a big ship for our first cruise. Shortly after, a Royal Caribbean ship passed and finally, at 7.30pm, our ship came through. So it was really nice to see it from canal side. ...

... full. People drop their trash bags out daily, it must be outside before 9. As we walked back watching Venice wake up we saw shop owners sweeping the square, streets & stairs with brooms. The interesting thing is the brooms aren't store bought brooms. These are the ancient, wicked witch versions. There isn't anyone blowing with a blower, no street cleaner driving around, just the work from ones hands. It's sad that so many people want ...
