... and then get back in line. Fortunately there wasn't really a line for 'aliens' . We were really the only ones! The second reason was that the customs man was quite charming, friendly and chatty! Don't think I've ever come across a friendly border control official before! Marion and Dave were waiting for us and it was so good to see them. We went to the Wetherby Whaler for lunch and I had Plaice and chips and mushy pease - ...

Like anybody, I have seen pictures, but I don't think I realised just how 'on ...

          Day 1

It was today all my travelling troubles began. There is no rail between Vienna and Venice, instead you alight from the train somewhere in Austria and board a bus taking you to Venice, arriving in Venice just before sunset, was bad enough only because the bus dropped us in the middle of nowhere, later I was told it is part of Venice's dockland, when asked why we were dumped there nobody could give a reason, I know one of Venice’s main ...

... getting lost. To me it just means I am in a new place and I love seeing new places, meeting new people, and just taking it all in. So we would walk and then stop in random stores. Walk some more and stop for a treat in a bakery. Walk some more and stop for lunch. Walk for and stop for wine. Can you ...
