... swift action resulted in them being relocated underneath the van, despite the protestations of Lymºs board, which proceeded to lash out and cause him bodily harm about the head. (A: ha ha ha !!) However, all is forgiven and we all lived to surf another day.
A very pretty (cobbled alleyways, olde worlde stylee, cows in a field with not only udders, but also tuneful bells which, when youºve got a dozen, made quite a din a la Mike Oldfield) little town, unlike the campsite which was essentially a sodden piece of grass, for which we were charged Euro 22, for the pleasure of a night's shut-eye.
Leaving San Sebastian behind we drove to Santander to spend the night. With nothing more then the car, no place to stay and no plan. As luck turns out we found a cheap Pension to stay at, and ate in their quaint little restaurant, treated to warm hospitality, good food, and free Grappa and Lemonchelo
Santander, Cantabria, Spain and Canary Islands sofenjon... perfection! And that definitely would have been a dream come true for me, if it happened to be her sitting there eating toast and olive oil, instead of that little old lady!
Off to Santillana del Mar - when I was at the Mercado del Este earlier, I stopped at the TI and got some information on various day trips in the area. Their suggestion was Santillana del Mar, because Comillas was famous for its beach, something that wouldn't be ...

I kept wandering and ended up on Calle Vargas again, stopping at the Diferente here to pick up some picnic supplies. I had seen some Iberico pate at the Diferente in El Sardinero earlier, but couldn't find it at this location :( After, I wandered back towards El Sardinero, past the cathedral, before hopping on a bus - I didn't feel like a 45 minute walk back to the pension today!

... weren't friendly at all, in fact even a little bit rude. Guess I was spoiled with the overwhelming friendliness experienced in Galicia and Asturias.
Time for lunch - at the same cafe on Plaza Mayor from this morning's breakfast, for that calamari bocadillo that earlier made me drool. It was a different waitress this time, and she was actually quite rude as well. When my bill blew away, I asked her to confirm the price, and ...
We're off round the blog again....
Less ambitious than the last trip, more complex than a Jet2 flight to
Malaga and slightly longer than the usual holiday, we'll go from from
Leeds to the lap of Virg's family via Santander, Lisbon and Seville.
Not sure the blogathon will continue in the same vein as previously,
as we're not “travelling” we're “holidaying” - the
difference? Hopefully fewer mosquito bites as a result of
sub ...
... windows keep in very dark. One morning we all sleep in until after 9.
We venture to the next village and explore a medieval church and castle which was part of the Atlantic Pilgrims Route to Santiago de la Compostela. We pass a number along the road still walking. They all have wooden sticks, backpacks and look exhausted. I think this route would be a lot more interesting then the one that goes inland which seems to be more open and ...
Not going to Germany like I have purchased tickets for. I would have had to leave at 12:30, and there is no way I could have put myself through that. Im whiped. Plus there is no place for me to stay, and the girls I would go with have differnt places to go and no plans of anything to do/see. Not to mention the 100 euro train ticket! No thank you! Chilling with my friends tomorrow. We will eat pizza and watch Ditry dancing. Relaxing is nice!
Santander, Cantabria, Spain and Canary Islands jschae13... Mmmm ...
