Capítulo 27- Feliz Navidad

In the United States, many Jewish people have their own traditions on Christmas day, that do not include the typical traditions. For example, my family has previously ordered Chinese food on Christmas day and gone to the movie theaters. I always wondered though what it was like to celebrate Christmas with a family that celebrates the holiday, and this past Christmas I had that opportunity with my friend Simon's family in Germany!

12th September - This week was my first week of German class. The course goes for 3 months and costs 600 euro, which I think is pretty good. I feel like I learned a fair bit this week. I realised how much easier it is to learn a language when you have someone pushing you rather than trying to learn by yourself. By 10:00 we had arrived at the hauptbahnhof (main train station) - directions from tourist info there provided us with the 5 minute walk to the Pension Alpha - a hostel/hotel-type of accommodation. To quote the desk manager when we checked in: "It's not the Hilton".
