... are available for passengers to enjoy a beverage from the very extensive menu. The first palatable white wine in ages goes down well as we consider our new and very modern environment. A cinema, casino, restaurant, wifi, pool and dancing area are also available to pass the time if you so wish. The kind lady at the ticket office also happened to give us a cabin for the price of a deck passage. On board, a very friendly and gallant gentleman shows us ...
Igoumenitsa, Epirus, Greece manic-trip... of the Paleo Frourio, an old Venetian fort. That was pretty cool. Then, late this afternoon we went through the Archaeological Museum. We didn't spend much time here since it was close to closing time and we were all tired from the water park.
That evening though we ate at our first authentic Greek taverna, we found one playing Greek music ...
... the boat, but turns out they just asked that I visit the on-board doctor during my first day. They gave me a flu swab which came back negative (phew!) and a complimentary consultation. The doc said I had a pretty legit case of sinusitis and provided some free meds. (Yes, Risa, I know you also provided meds but I didn't know what I had or what I was supposed to do with them. I'm dumb.) Anyway, so turns out I got a free International doctor's visit and prescription. Not many ...
Corfu Town, Ionian Islands, Greece josiezim... photos taken, glad it wasn’t that hot on Peter and Vicki’s day.
Athens was a most interesting city. We bargained our way into a taxi to take us to all the sights around the city for four hours (having already walked for 30 minutes with no success looking for a self service laundry, because we baulked at paying the ship laundry prices). We got a great driver. Told him we wanted him to take us to a laundry first and then spend the time ...
... Dave realised he'd forgotten his wallet and wanted to buy drinks or something (we was already soooo drunk) and so he went back down to the boat to get it and didn't come back for like 20 minutes and so we started getting a bit worried that he'd falling into the water and was drowning or something (although not worried enough to get up and check....). And like 25 minutes later he eventually came back, stormed over to the table and was like "WHAT THE HELL GUYS? WHY DID ...
Corfu Town, Ionian Islands, Greece t_lee... It was a nightmare, not helped by the incredibly impatient, rude, obnoxious Italian moped drivers. Those guys are CRAZY. And the ones in cars were worse. We had acquired quite a long line of traffic behind us, thanks to getting stuck at corners etc, and one lady actually stopped her car, got out, banged on Seb's window as he was trying to negotiate a corner and then got punched by some other crazy driver. It was all very stressful and dramatic so halfway through ...
Corfu Town, Ionian Islands, Greece t_lee... they spend a lot of time relaxing, because they live on an island. I have only one dislike. The water was too cold and dirty for my taste, but there are a lot of swimming pools around, so I didn't need to swim in the open. This journey was a fun journey and I will never forget it.
Corfu Town, Ionian Islands, Greece indianabones... the joke)
-the first substantial misunderstading of a whasname
Smitty: Whasname (Jess) has a boyfriend
Bosh [assuming Whasname was L-Bow]: Ah ****...
-fatty nicknamed Rums by Bosh
-girls becoming legitimately concerned about Smitty's well being, but him remaining more worried about theirs
-Smitty being placed on injured reserve after quitting mid-round after failing repeatedly to flip his cup (hero Jess covers for him ...
... they wanted to keep - this from the girl who shoots piles of corrugated metal tubing because I love the lines and textures! I loved it though. We hiked up the steep grade to get to the top of the fortress and took some photos of the surrounding town and seascape and then carefully climbed back down the slippery rock path. The stones were so old and worn down they were as slippery as ice on a rink but angled downward so much more treacherous ...
Corfu, Ionian Islands, Greece tlbuster... At one place I saw a similar effect to that at the Blue Grotto in Capri. I was entranced. One inhabitant of the hostel was the grandmother. She reminds me of the old lady in My Big Fat Greek Wedding, for those of you who have seen it. Her role at the place consists of sitting around, staring daggers and any passer-by and hacking up bile every so often. A charming lady. The younger boy of the couple who run the place was a menace. He had a weird love for ...
