I think all 80,000 Lugano'ites turned up for lunch and this time it had a distictly German feel with umpa bands, sourkraut and a range of other not so appetising foods on offer. The kids had been nagging us and we gave in to them and walked into the most expensive Burger King store in the world. $60 for 3 whopper meals - I must say they tasted pretty good though. Pottered about the little town of Pella near to where we are staying. Sat on wooden bench on quayside scoffing a gelato each like oldies do apparently. Delightful. Forgot to mention dinner last night which was in a waterfront restaurant in Pella, a walk downhill of about 1.5 ...

... you nuts but at least tolls are fairly cheap in Italy. Worth it though for this place. Arrived early and so spent a while in the town of Orta on the east side of the lake, very beautiful indeed and full of Americans with their name tags around their necks, good idea really - see pics. Got strange attack of paranoia after parking car and became convinced that a rather shifty bloke ...

Skiing on a sun snowy day

... She fell over every single time she went on it. After we skiied we walked up to the top of the mountain. We could see for miles. There was a roller coaster kind of thing that was closed down because of the snow. By Meg The Mottarone is supposed to be a good mountain for beginners with heaps of beginner and intermediate runs. Shall we just say that we remained in the teaching area as the rest of the mountain was a lot steeper than the beginner ...
