... I was crazy mad with the speed of the descent.

Not much else happening today, had a nice pasta lunch and may double up for dinner. Cleaned the bike it was filthy with all the rain we have had and watched a little TDF.

We are off at sparrows to drive to Le Bourg D'Oisans to spend the day in the region. I will climb the legendary l' Alpe with its 21 hairpins and the meet Mich at the Saturday markets in Le Bourg.

... was still cold and the cloud was very low. I was itching for a ride so decided to tackle some local Cols near us.

They were some great climbs, Villerzembrun climb with its hairpins and early steep ramps out of St Michel and Col de Beau Plan with forest mist through the clouds on quiet roads and only a fool like me out riding them. ... and if the weather permits I will add the Montee La Toussure at 1705m.

Right outside our doorstep is the road to the Col Du Telgraphe and the Galibier which tops out at a frightening 2645m. That's looking like my Sunday sparrows ride.

We visited the ski village of Valloire today just above (on the road) but below the top of the Telegraphe in elevation. I could see part of the Galibier from there. Its an intimidating looking climb.

Until tomorrow

Attempted to get to a local park where the snow runoff lands in a wonderful waterfall but it was FREEZING!! So we went home and Nicholas practised his Boy Scout skills and made us a fire. Home made Fried Rice was a hit again... Then a sit by the fire to plan Padua and ...

... brakes hard enough for the 12km decent to the town we were staying at. Also, I still had a couple of more climbs planned and the last thing I needed was to come down with a cold or worse and ruin the rest of our holiday. Just on the other side of the summit, where the other side of the tunnel was, we stopped at a restaurant and gift shop so Connie could grab a coffee and me a beer, as well as buy a few Galibier memorabilia. The trio of cyclists were ...
