We also saw where Padre Pio (saint) did his novena here and apparently he was born in a little town nearby – he is certainly a popular person round here and has the most statues after Jesus!

Eventually we went back to Lina’s place and they had planned to take us out for Pizza!! Not what we needed. They were astonished that we chose to share a ...

... up, as the town gets drenched. We even see a small blue house on the mountainside get struck by lightning. I write in my journal, copy a few Italian recipes from a magazine I found and watch the rain fall. Mario naps. THIS is how you do siesta in Italy.

Around 4, we head back out onto the wet streets, to pick up Lesley and James for more delicious gelato. What? Two in one day!? It's ok - it's good for you. Then we explore the town some more, ...
