Today Susan and I crossed 1,000 kilometers pedaled so far! Although we are still along the coast, the terrain has become more hilly and much more rural south of Pescara. The shore is dotted with little fishing villages and roadside stands where the fisherman sell their daily catch. We stopped in the town of San Salvo Marina, got a beach front hotel room, slept on the beach for a while and then enjoyed another great fish dinner. Thanks for coming ...

It's sooooo yummy!

After coffee, it's off to the market for sandwich ...

Today is fix-it day in Boiano. Mario and I discovered that an apartment that stayed vacant for 2 years inevitably has some quirks and small repairs needed. We had started looking late last night, fueled by wine. This morning, list in hand, we begin scouting out stores where we can buy things to fix all the little problems. We pick up a nice, sharp knife and cutting board to ...

... to catch the same ride, so we hang around for a bit, waiting and watching for the little orange bus. We wait...and wait....and WAIT some more....During this time, a little orange bus passes us by three times, the same annoyed driver telling us each time, "NO CIVITA". By the third pass, I was sure that some of the Italian ladies were going to overtake him and commandeer the bus up to Civita themselves, they were getting so ...
