... Milan in the 19th century. It is now home to a series of museums and art collections. We passed through the central courtyard to and wandered through the extensive Parco Sempione, stopping to get up close to some local wildlife. Day 242 2 hrs, 6 kms Day totals: 16 hrs, 37.1 kms Dusk is approaching as I enter Lecco. Here a highway bypass rises up over the town, turning into a skyway crossing over the southern suburbs. Seems a bit of overkill for me. There's a serene park along the lake where I come across a fellow playing a violin by himself... Doing his own "Parkbench Concert Tour" perhaps? Finally I enter a town, pausing to peer into a ...

... as we watched the “human river” go by. We then visited the Church of San Giorgio and the smaller, and less travelled, Church of San Giovanni Batista. A careful walk down steep steps brought us back to the “passerella” and after a few minutes we decided it was lunch time. So we sat outside of the romantic Old World Hotel Olivedo located adjacent to the ferry terminal. As we enjoyed our midday meal ...
