... Rome, Cagliari was built on 7 hills. The oldest part of the city was built on one of these hills, resulting in stunning views, especially from Bastione San Remy, overlooking the city and harbor. We kept the kids trudging on in search of Torre dell’Elefante, which even elephant obsessed Abigail thought as boring! We had our first taste of traditional Sardinian food (amazing!) before we headed home to Tertenia.

The best day wind and weather wise on our last day here. Enjoyed watching the fishermen whilst in the shower, M-L doing same from her breakfast in bed spot. There is a reasonable climb from picnic level to old town and castle level, our estimation is 250 - 300 metres so we tried to imagine the enemies attempting to penetrate this fortress - almost impossible. There is an entire small village that still lives within the castle walls, they drive to parking areas and then walk the narrow lane ways, another world really.
