... as we sailed in to the the sunset, Rome bound. It's now 8pm and we've just returned to our cabin after a full day out. A quick shower next, some food somewhere (unsure where yet) possible movie and then bed. It's a 7am dock in the morning and we need to be off early if we are to try and get to Rome. We got to the hotel too early for our room, so we drove into town for a little lunch. We each had a small beer and split a panini sandwich.

... the nicest thunderstorm come through I've seen and heard in years. The lightning was both vertical and horizontal with great booms of thunder. It is pouring outside as I write this. ... off to the laundromat to do some laundry. That was a 2 1/2 hour adventure that would take too long to recount in this travel blog. When Peter finally returned, it was soon time for dinner at La Tour Genoese which is around the corner from our hotel. Peter had lamb and Anne had rockfish en papillote which apparently means wrapped in aluminum foil. It was tasty nonetheless. ... are doing a 16 day tour of Italy, Sardinia and Corsica and were very jealous when we told them how long we are touring for.
The ferry departed Bastia on time at 8am and the crossing to Livorno took about 3 and 1/2 hours.
Corsica was nice to visit, we probably missed things we should have seen but you always do! We must say that the prices on this little island were much higher than we expected so we are pleased to be on our way back to Italy. ...
