... swimming pool. Heaven. After settling in we took a wander along the waterfront and fell in love with this tiny slice of Kerala. The beach is beautiful (although there are too many gawkers to sunbathe there) and the hodgepodge of buildings are all a multi coloured mess of hotels, restaurants and shops. It is really quiet as there are not many tourists here now during the uncomfortable mugginess of pre-monsoon weather, which makes it much nicer to be here - there are probably ...

... ages ...get there finally to discover its closed one wanted to go really anyway !! We are heading for the beach today Kovalam is the town we are going to ..meaning coconut grove .... Just like old Porty D ...its on the Arabian Sea ...hope we can swim there as I have an extra night before heading to the ashram Here now and it is amazing and the water ...

... Coir Village Resort where we had to even take a poled barge to get from our accommodation to the dining room. That afternoon we had a pleasant walk through the neighbouring village to watch coir (a rope made from coconut fibre) being made. It is a cottage "industry" with most households making it. I think we all enjoyed our down time at this spot where there wasn't too much to do except relax! Off to the beach and Kovalam ...

... the great philosopher and guru who died in 1902 after trips around India and the world. The town also guests his ashram that I visited but the highlight for me was the catholic church and the square behind surrounded by coloured houses of the local fishermen. I walked along the dock-wharf that represents Cape Comorin, the southernmost point of India where three seas meet.

... down on it. I was presenting behind Maya so I got to get a good look at her finger painting. Her first attempt was watery to say the least but was still visible as a wet smudge above the politician's eyes...from there they got better. This proceeded with two hours of speeches, all very powerfully spoken, even with the occasional thump of the pulpit.
