Ups and Downs

Last week was frustrating. I enjoyed it, it had it's high points but it was frustrating. I've been here for four weeks and I'm still not 100% sure what I'm meant to be doing here. I can assist Davit with his English, a bit; and discuss physio assessments and treatments, but MSK is not my speciality and the clinic is so quiet it is hard to use patients as examples.

Tuk tuks arrive as we disembark to take is to an island Oknga Tey where even though it is Saturday and New Year celebrations the principal and some dedicated students were there to proudly welcome us to their school. Desks, benches, chalkboard and a few posters with letters, world map, sounds , one slow moving fan and some window ventilation.Students sang happy and you know it in English which they study for 1 hour per week. At the end of the audio they play you the propaganda music that the Khmer Rouge would play during the killings of the victims to hide the sounds of screams.
