... br> Åsa prepared salmon and rice for dinner, which everyone absolutely loved. We were all hoping for the skies to clear a bit more, hopefully seeing the northern lights. It didn't look promising, but an hour or so later it finally happened! A green streak of light danced across the sky and we all rushed towards the frozen lake with cameras and tripods.

We had lots of fun under the lights and stars and went to bed much later than we had intended. All worth it!

Off I went in the pouring rain. About 20 miles down the road I stopped at the town of Inari and filled up with petrol and was away within minutes.

Unsurprisingly there was a queue at security so it took another ...

... lake; the temperature in the lake is around 0 degrees! You need to add your own fire to the wood stove which is pretty cool. C manages to stay in the ice hole for up to 15 seconds, which is very impressive. After a sauna we were relaxed and ready to walk back to our cabin. The owner told us it is 1 km away. After walking more than 1 km in the dark on a dangerous road C refuses to walk any further and forces me to go back to the camp, find the staff and get ...

... that went up to the Aurora Sky Station on the same night as we did, and our driver was the one who saved us from the ever-delaying train after our grocery trip to Abisko. Travelling by daylight this time, we were able to enjoy the view of the 70km long Torneträsk lake, as well as the mountains.

Instead of going directly to the airport, we opted to visit the nearby ICEHOTEL first. The ICEHOTEL, due ...
