Off I went in the pouring rain. About 20 miles down the road I stopped at the town of Inari and filled up with petrol and was away within minutes.

I was heading along a road classed as the 955 towards a town, or should I say a place called Pallas. The road might have been extremely boring to ride but it was in extremely good condition and as I had far to go I sat at about 70mph all the way.

But without a gondola or cornetto in sight, I can't see the shadow of a doubt (see what I did there....) ... had temperatures of around -14 although it's common for it to get to more like -30, but if you're dressed properly it's actually a really refreshing cold. We didn't get to see any Northern Lights (too cloudy and snowy), but that fact barely registered. Superlatives fail me, and it was a weekend that I will never, ever forget.

      Fun in the snow

... a clear sky so I call for ACTION and we dress up and rush outside to catch about an hour of the lights. It was still half cloudy but we certainly saw some good activity, before the clouds came back again. The next day we went on a snowmobile tour to Ice Hotel. Luckily, there were only two of us on this tour (27 the day before and 20 the day after). We were able to drive one snowmobile each in a grogerous warm day. We drove through a fairy tale like forest, saw ...
