... is more cafeteria than restaurant but still good. Gab has Salmon while I have whatever the fish of the day was along with far too much from the salad bar - but surely too much salad is good for you right?.

After lunch we walk around the coast and around the beach a bit more before heading back to the hostel to relax for a little while. Before we know it it is time to go to the bus station. It is very sad to once again be farewell ...

... what other option is there and just then the storm subsided. Light enough to run we hit the back streets and found a greasy spoon cafe which looked like heaven. Friendly staff, affordable grub, we ordered up! What's the time Karina says. Oh sod its 11.50! We can't spend new year here. Touring around La Barra

Anyways, we headed out on foot to the La Barra district. I would say this district is more quaint than the core of Punta del Este. There are many Antique shops and Galleries. There are fewer name brand stores and more unique stores. For example, I went to a store called Lanas del Ese which had the most beautify designed sweaters/jackets ...

... sure the prices were hiked up due to the cruise ship too. All in all worth a look. and the drive there is not too bad either you get some amazing views of the Punta del este coast line from this vantage point.

Then we headed to "la Pataia" ranch, nice country drive and they show you how Dule De Leche is made and once you walk around the traquil gardens and the kids do ...

... the coast north past the "mano monument" which is said to remind the people to hold on to their kids as this beach is the rough side and has a bigger wave break. We kept driving north past the famous Leonel bridge which is more like an amusment ride that a bridge we kept going around the roundabouts on either side to bo back over it.

We got to "La Barra" which is an exclusive bohemian ...
