    Exploring the Austrian Alps

... their bells and wreaths of greenery with fresh flowers around their necks. Eldon thought he got a video of it, but for some reason it didn't work. It was so cool to see. They were bringing the cattle down from the high summer pastures to the lower winter area.

We had hoped to spend a night in this area but there was an obvious celebration going on in all the little villages. ...

Today we left the buzz of the city and throngs of tourists behind and headed for the hills. Five hours later we settled in a lovely little town high in the alpine with a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains and valley below. And yes, the water was ...

    Friday 29 August

Stayed around the campsite throughout the morning reading
a good book. A short local walk in the afternoon but managed to catch a bus

    book.

refusing to fire on LPG. Weather forecast for the day is not good, and not much
better at this altitude until Thursday so we have decided to head off and down.
Checked out, with a charge for the electricity of 2.7Kw. Their PC chart showed
the fridge started on electricity at 1600, 25 Aug through to 0900 26 Aug, with
    a setting of 2 bars and a cool ...

A Grumpy Old Man....and some great scenery

A travel blog entry by rolandandlinda on Aug 24, 2014

    ... around 10kW-hrs, but 20kW-hrs, never. The
guy never showed us the start reading (scribbled on some scrap of paper in
pencil) so it could have been anything. He caught me washing the van, and I’m
sure he took exception to it too, so not surprised he tried to diddle us.
    Overall, not a nice man.

Drove out of Dalaas in a huff and left the area, heading
up the Montafon Valley, avoiding the Arlberg Tunnel. Still had to pay ...
