    Fast sail all the way over to Otranto and even had the fun of Dolphins playing at the helm. Busy shipping lanes overnight kept us all on our toes and Eric plenty of time to practise his lights. Winds were so favourable we headed on South to M.Saint Di Leuca still arriving by 3pm in time for a cocktail on shore before getting Ellis already for next early departure ...

    ... then went straight to the main course. There was gnocchi, steak, torfie (essentially tightly twisted noodles), and Mom had an incredibly burrata-stuffed ravioli (I helped her finish). We finished dinner, and wandered home, forsaking gelato for the second night in a row! We'll have to make up for that tomorrow.     ... bikeability, all three sections did prove to be beautiful, and certainly displayed the least traffic we’ve seen so far. Apart from those parts, much of the ride was a main road: coastal and beautiful, but busy.     ... to figure out how to use the machines there was quite an adventure, as no one speaks much English here. They try to be helpful but...there was an older man doing laundry in the laundromat who was our biggest help. He was so sweet, John and Kate had gone in ahead, they couldn't figure out how to pay, so he took John's wallet, pulled out a 20 E note and put it in the machine.     ... refusing to convert to Islam in 1480. Their skulls are preserved behind glass in the church. The painting of the beheadings is eerily similar to the recent beheadings we have seen on TV from ISIL and is a reminder that history has a tendency to repeat itself.
