I haven't come this far to not 'get a better view of the Pyrenees Mountains which I see in great detail during each year's Tour de France. Lourdes rests at the base of this great mountain range. To get a 360 degree view I needed to reach the summit of Le Pic de Jer ??? The city bus got me to the funiculaire which would then ascend the mountain. ... of public faith was quite foreign to me. I have heard stories, mainly from Mary Jones, of similar processions many years ago and then from Tim Ham of these processions around Cairns.

This procession occurs each evening whilst another, focussed on the sick, occurs each afternoon. It was close to 10.45pm when the last Amen was prayed and then there was a mad rush for the hundreds of souvenir shops that remain open until 11.30pm.
