We left Sauvignone soon after 09:00 and took the autostrade to Turin and then onwards to Briancon. We stopped at Momtgenevre where relatively fresh snow had been swept for the road into piles on the car park. This was hard to believe as it was actually 20c with brilliant sunshine when we were there! The views of the Alps with snow covered tops, ...

... had a four hour bike tour using electric bikes - a first for all of us. Caleb sat on a seat behind me as we were trekking some 25km's on the trip. I will keep this part short but the tour company was formed just over four months ago and the tour part was horrible meaning the owner and the tour guide in training had no passion or even knowledge about Lyon. Their combined knowledge could be gained with maybe 30 minutes surfing Wikipedia. Enough ...

... which we utilised quite well.
Our first day though was just perfect, 26 and sunny, with a stop as the famous Les Halles market for French goodies (including our first ever duck terrine) and a picnic in the park. We didn't want to leave but we had a booking at 9 for a fancy dinner, so we had to be home by 6 to get ready (Gen and Pete will understand).
It was our first rack of ...
