    ... shop which is very much like a smoke shop and bar all on one so we sat down and had coffee after telling them how to make a machiato!

    ... with overgrown Ivy strangling the trees. Kevin and Mick have been giving this their attention. The old rose bushes and shrubs around the Chateau have had a haircut also thanks to us Helpex workers.

    Mick is a structural engineer so he has been able to fix important equipment like sharpening mower blades which are pulled behind the tractor, fixing the dryers ,the oven and one of Joesine's nice antique lamps.

    ... town more on the Tram and Tourist train around the city. Extremely beautiful boutique shops with amazing shoes and specialist items, all of which I loved but obviously could not afford. The weather was very cold with some sunny patches, wish I bought my boots as I would have got a lot of ware out of them! Froze a bit. Caught train back to Chateau. Back to work tomorrow again, all good though , getting used to it.

    The importance of the castle diminished, and it was used as a garrison and military training centre. Curiously the Duke of Wellington, later to defeat Napoleon in the Battle of Waterloo, received his training here in Angers, France.
    The castle was seriously damaged during the Second World War when a stock of arms inside the castle exploded.
