As the temperatures have started to rise thanks to sunny days since, we have taken stock of any damage. There is still a huge lump of snow on the front of the house roof and as it melts we watch roof tiles slide to the ground. Once we had managed to dig my car out, we discovered the windscreen had cracked. I’m very glad that it is covered on my insurance as when ...

... friends of ours. We are still not sure if it is a male or female, though as time goes on I think it is a little girl, so we have named her Poppy after the Armistice Day symbol. With hindsight, I think the Brits were stitched up as the rest of the litter has now appeared and it looks like it is one of the French neighbour’s cats that is the mum. They couldn’t keep her as one of their dogs is rather partial to kitten sandwich and of ...

... it was one of the best 12 miles we had ever walked…..a perfect day.

We had a more chilled out day on friday before setting off on Saturday on our first bike ride of the trip in search of the Col d’Aspin, one of the Category 1 Tour de France climbs from 2012. Omg it was a tough ride, it basically climbs for 16.5 miles before letting the brakes off all the way home! It beat Mandy who managed half of the ride before heading back, but Paul ...
