... hands of the Caesar. I have to say that I saw the arena through a tourist eye and not as a spectator that must have witnessed barbarism at its worst! There is restoration going on as we speak and hats off the France for recognising the quality of history they have in their towns and cities. The arena is still used today as a cultural hub where it hosts concerts, festivals and cultural events through out the summer however, its ...

Oh what a glorious feeling it was to sleep in, although tempered somewhat by the barking in my hamstrings from yesterday's extended climb. At 9:00 it is already 23 degrees with a forecast high of 35 - thankfully our hotel 'room' (somewhat of a misnomer, as there isn't very much) is air-conditioned.

... morning we had breakfast half in/outside as everyone woke up on their own schedule. Yaëlle had her Bac exams to study for, so for the most part I did not see much of her the whole weekend as she spent so much time revising her work! But the morning I spent with Pierre, Véro and Rémy. We went into Orange to buy fresh bread, and I got to see into the back of a bakery, the first time I've done that yet! Plenty of young guys making baguettes and such... ...
